NOW HIRING: LEAD BARISTA

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Lead Barista is responsible for keeping operations running smoothly within their assigned space. They should set the example for outstanding service and preparation behind the bar and have a love and passion for coffee. They will keep inventory of goods and place orders accordingly. Working with the General Manager and Retail Supervisors they will enforce systems and service measures needed to create the best customer experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set an example for stellar on bar performance

  • Maintain inventory tracking system

  • Maintain FIFO of inventory items

  • Support team to direct efficient and customer service driven shifts

  • Be an example for new and current baristas

  • Order necessary inventory items

  • Ensure that team is completing all shift task lists

  • Enforce daily/weekly cleaning schedules

  • Complete and/or delegate other needed shop tasks

  • Coordinate in shop customer coffee catering requests

  • Create positivity

  • Partner with GM and RS to instill quality measures defined by QC team

  • Be a resource for DRC product knowledge for staff

  • Maintain ServSafe- Person in Charge Certification

  • Ensure clean and orderly space

  • Adapt weekly/daily cleaning schedules as necessary, partner with RS to schedule and execute cleaning nights

  • Communicate to RS and GM needs of the shop; maintenance issues, organizational items, cleaning products

  • Maintain accurate cash register/change, communicate with RS cash and coin needs and keep accurate count sheet

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Organized

  • Timely

  • Strong interpersonal skills: able to work with and communicate with various personalities

  • Ability to handle conflict and resolve customer complaints/handle stressful situations

  • Attention to detail; able to see problem areas and create a plan of action to fix the need

  • Previous café or restaurant experience, previous management experience helpful but not necessary

SCHEDULE/HOURS:

This position is roughly 40 hrs/wk; 32-35 hrs on bar shift, 5 hrs to complete inventory/coffee development duties. (subject to change as necessary)

Schedule: M-Su; Open to close. Flexibility in availability is a must. Ideally a set 5-day schedule with flex when needed.

COMPENSATION:

  • From $14.50/hr + tips
