Community Giveback: Tanzania Mwika North
Our last round of Community Giveback funding for Mwika North was used for crucial improvements to get the wet mill up and running. It was used for supporting the work of getting electricity run to crucial wet mill equipment, refurbishing some already built washing channels, drainage for handling water run off from the washing process and the building of drying beds.
This round of Giveback Project funding will go towards replacing the roof of the wet mill/office/collection station and some painting to keep the building protected from the elements. However, it is important that the entire community surrounding the Mwika North project feel supported so we’re also looking forward to this round of funding to do similar building infrastructure improvement to the neighboring Mwika North-East office.
They are a crucial part of the project and provide a valuable collection point for farmers not living near the main office. This will communicate to the people of the whole area that the work they are doing is, in fact, successful and will give some much needed love to older buildings that need to last for a growing coffee project.
