Seven Hills Neighborhood House

Local Community Give Back Partner - 2020

Since 1961, Seven Hills Neighborhood Houses (Findlay Street Neighborhood House) has been serving Cincinnati’s West End Community as a social services resource and community gathering space. It is the safe-haven and second home for approximately 2,500 – 3,000 at-risk children, teens, families, seniors, and disadvantaged citizens annually. The Neighborhood House offers a broad spectrum of services from food distribution and emergency assistance to advocacy at their trauma recovery center; from arts and athletics to education and training in important areas such as health and nutrition. It is astounding how integral the Neighborhood House is to the well-being of the community and with our roasterie headquarters being located in the West End, we are excited to connect with and participate in the essential work they do.

Specifically, the local project for this year's Community Blend Giveback funds will be the Neighborhood House’s Eviction Assistance Program. Before the COVID crisis, West End residents were already facing increasing rental rates, taxes and economic instabilities. A recent housing study showed that nearly 44% of the residents are at risk of displacement. With the current stresses of employment upheaval due to COVID, the struggles have only become more acute and such assistance is ever more crucial to keep many of our West End neighbors in their homes.
